BOUQUET PAINTINGS
Preserve the delicate and fleeting beauty of your floral bouquet or arrangement
with an original painting by Canadian artist, Terri Heinrichs.
Have a painting made based on a photo of the flowers from
your wedding, anniversary, new baby, housewarming, or any occasion.
A thoughtful and memorable gift idea!
HOW IT WORKS:
1. SEND ME A PHOTO. Send in your favorite 1 - 4 photos of the bouquet or flower arrangment. Digital files should each be around 8 x 10 inches in size, and at least 150 dpi (dots per inch) resolution. If you don't know the size, send the pictures anyway and I'll let you know if I can work with them. See FAQ below for more information. By sending me an image to paint, you are giving permission to use the photo as a reference for the painting.
2. CHOOSE THE STYLE. I can paint your flowers either in an impressionistic, traditional oil painting style, or in a more contemporary acrylic textured style.
3. APPROVE THE DRAFT. I will work with the pictures to crop and enhance them, creating a draft image, which I will email to you for your approval. Once approved, I will begin work on the painting itself.
4. GET YOUR PAINTING! When the painting is complete, I will either mail it to you, or contact you for a pick-up in Calgary. Acrylic paintings may take 3-4 weeks to finish, but I'll try to get it done sooner! Oil paintings may take a little longer to dry... estimate around 4-6 weeks.

FAQ
1. What kind of photos do you need?
The best photos to work with for the acrylic paintings are taken of the bouquet or flowers against a white or light background (perhaps the wedding dress), under natural daylight, in the shade. Outdoors, but not in direct sunlight, or indoors beside a window or door, but not in direct sunlight work best. For ideas on how to photograph the bouquet, search for “photograph wedding bouquet” on Google Images.
For a more dramatic traditional oil painting, photograph the flower arrangment in front of a medium to dark background, with natural side lighting (like a window), but not in direct sunlight.
2. Does the bouquet have to be from a wedding?
I can paint ANY bouquet for you! It can be a wedding bouquet, or a bridesmaid's bouquet. It could also be from an anniversary, renewal of wedding vows, graduation, new baby, new home, birthday, retirement... you name it! I just need a photo of the flowers, in whatever arrangement you like.
3. What if the bouquet is all white?
If the bouquet is all white or cream, the photo can be taken against a light background, or on a colored, darker background.
4. Can you create a painting from an older wedding photo (i.e. my parents or grandparents)?
Often I can. Email me the photos and I’ll let you know if this is a possibility. It would make a lovely anniversary gift!
5. Will the painting be ready to hang on the wall?
The acrylic painting is ready to hang, painted on a narrow (3/4-inch) gallery-wrapped canvas, which means it's stapled on the back. The edge color is white, unless you let me know you'd prefer a different color. No need to frame the canvas, but you can if you like.
The oil paintings will be painted on a canvas board, which is easier (and less expensive) to ship. Once it arrives, you can frame it in whatever frame you think suits it best. Traditional wood frames, from simple to elaborate, will suit this style of painting.
6. Can you create the painting in other sizes?
Yes, the size and proportion of the painting is flexible, acrylic up to 24 x 30 inches in size, the oil paintings can be any size. The minimum size is 8 x 8 inches. Let me know if you’d like a different size, and I’ll get you a quote and see what we can do.
7. How does the payment work?
When you place an order by email for the work to be started, 50% of the total amount is payable for me to begin the piece. The remaining 50% is payable upon completion of the painting, before I mail it to you. I accept an e-transfer, VISA, Mastercard, PayPal, or cash.
