CANADIAN ROCKY MOUNTAINS
Take home a memory of the Canadian Rocky Mountains! These original, encaustic painted and textured mountains can be placed on a mantle or shelf, or hung on the wall... individually or in groups.
Encaustic is beeswax, tree resin and colored pigment. It is melted, and painted on uniquely-shaped geometric wood in numerous layers, each layer being fused gently to the next, with heat over it’s melting point of 150-200 F.
To care for your encaustic mountains, gently buff the wax with a soft cotton cloth from time to time, to regain shine. As with all fine art, keep out of direct sunlight if possible. They are fine for most mantles above fireplaces... just check to be sure they aren't getting shiny, which means it's too hot.
If the title of the piece below begins with a "4", it is just under 4 inches tall, if a "6", it's just under 6 inches tall, and if an "8", just under 8 inches tall. Each piece comes with a hook on the back to hang on the wall if desired.
